New Combustion Gas Sensor
City Technology will be unveiling the new Combustion Gas Sensor (CGS 200) at AHR 2004 in Anaheim, California on 26th January.
The CGS 200 is based on proven patented metal oxide sensing materials that give excellent stability, resistance to poisoning and stable performance over a wide range of relative humidity conditions. To withstand the harsh high temperature and humidity conditions of the furnace flue the sensor is mounted in a PPS housing. PPS is an extremely heat stable and chemically resistant material that will ensure the sensor can operate for long periods of time in the furnace. By incorporating a carbon filter into the design, any volatile organic compounds present in the flue will be removed and prevent poisoning of the sensor and reduce cross sensitivity. The CGS 200 has embedded intelligence, i.e. a SMART sensor, it stores all the sensors' calibration data so removing the need to calibrate the sensor when installing into a furnace. Using the CGS 200 to detect unsafe levels of CO in the furnace flue will help manufacturers comply with current ANSI standards in the US and ever increasing constraints on CO2 emissions in the EU.
